If anyone is interested, I think I have found an Internet site that contains a database of 'Technical Service Bulletins' for most cars.
The site is: www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/
If you have a warranty issue this site might be of some help.

As long as your car is sold in the states........

The NHTSA have revamped their website since I last visited but please note that invariably only the TSB summary is available on the site and a fee is payable to acquire the full text.
In my experience, many TSBs can be of a rather trivial nature so the appearance of a TSB summary for a particular component of your car may not necessarily mean you have found an earth-shattering piece of insider knowledge.
What I have done successfully in the past is to use the TSB reference numbers and title to support my request at my friendly dealer to view their copy of the document.
Often TSBs do contain vital information pertaining to common defects and a full set is an essential reference for any car specialist.
I sent HJ the TSB for the Jeep/ Chrysler autobox fluid specification change for inclusion in the C-b-C-B.

Agreed. The Japanese, in particular, tend to send out an amazing number of TSBs, a lot of them relating to how to cure a particular rattle or squeak from the trim.
