General question, for anyone who drives and has made an insurance claim for an incident not your fault. Would that shoot up my premium on renewal?

I drive forward into a parking spot in a narrow road and was indicating to park. I wasn't as close to the curb as could be and left my indicator on and a car facing me forced its way forward hitting my wing mirror and drove off before giving me a chance to reverse closer parrelel to the curb.

(I was hit while stationary and have it on dashcam, the sound of me having the indicator on and collision can be heard)

Without being able to identify the other driver, your insurance will pay your claim after deducting your excess - but it won't be classed as no-fault.

How badly is it damaged? Paint just scraped off or the whole unit is broken?

If your dashcam shows the reg number of the other car then go to the police as it's hit-and-run.
