2005 Dacia Logan - Problems after replacing brake discs - AlexT

My car had a disk and pads replacement about 3 weeks ago and since then whenever I go on a winding road my left wheel becomes slightly hotter than the right one, and there is a sharp noise whenever I turn right or left, but the problem does not appear on a straight road. Car does not have a stuck break mechanism, if I drive on a motorway nothing happens, problem only happens on a road with loads of curves, after about 10-15 minutes of driving.

Went back to the mechanic (big service, about 6 ramps), looked at the breaking system, says there is nothing wrong with it, probably from the front wheels. Changed all 4 wheels (I had the winter tires on so I put the summer ones that had different rims, exactly the same size). Problem still happens.

Thing is, the road leading to the mechanic is very straight, it's difficult for me to show him exactly what is happening, they said as long as the car is in neutral and you turn the wheel and the brake pads don't touch the rotors everything is great. I think the break pads only slightly touch the disk, the left disk seams slightly more worn out than the right one and it's only been three weeks (done about 600 miles).

I'm almost sorry I changed the brakes, the old ones were worn out but did not have this problem.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

That will be a wheel bearing then, possiblt due to worn suspension?

Get it properly checked.

Best check wheel bearings, they will cause the disc to run out so disc drags on the pads, probably need replacing. simple to check!

I went there yesterday on my way from work and asked that they check the bearings and they seamed skeptical, going there on Thursday, they are really busy this time of year, but I looked at the symptoms of bad ball bearings and this is probably it, I really hope they will find which bearing is the one making the noise. It'll keep you updated.

Went in today, apparently the drive shaft is to blame, a new one is only about 50 pounds, so next week I'm changing it (mechanic already ordered the new one). Never would have guessed. Thanks for the help, if it wasn't for you guys suggesting it may be the bearing the mechanic would never have looked there.
