Hi all
I bought an 03 plate hiace minibus that was owned by a council for ferrying disabled people about. It had the ramp etc.
I have removed the ramp and winch.
There are three up front in these and this one also had two fixed (bolted) in the back. It also had two seats using the unwin tracks. So seven in total. On the log book it states 4 seats. I’m guessing that’ll be two up front and two bolted in the back....
How does the dvla define what counts as a seat for the log book? It’s definitely three up front.
Anyway. I’ve removed the ones in the back (day van bed van purposes) and we use the three up front - driver, passenger and in the middle my child using a retro fitted harness in replace of the lap belt.
We can still fit in two (bought separately) pairs of seats in the back using the tracking system should we need to.
My main question is this - what do I tell the dvla for the log book. 3 seats or 7?
All help appreciated. Thanks.
