Ford Focus Ecoboost 1.0 - Acceleration Cuts off - Mr Michael W Snow

Hi,

I've recently come across a few issues with my 1.0 EcoBoost Focus.

I was driving down the motorway a few weeks back and as soon as I put my foot down the acceleration cut off temporarily. If I take my foot off and slowly ease back on it's fine.

This only happens when the car has fully heated up and will do it in all gears.

I've got the below code:

P0443 - evaporation emission system purge control valve circuit

I have replaced the Purge Valve and Harness today and it still persists.

Any suggestions for me please :)

Any reason for changing those parts? Sounds like the engine is on restricted boost.?

Hey - thanks for your reply. The only reason to change that was due to a recommendation from my neighbor.

Could you tell me more about the restriction boost? I've not heard of that

I would say the engine control system has detected a fault ,and has limited the engine performance. There may be a turbo overboost condition .
