Where are the speed camera vans on the m180? - Arron Lowley
I was bombing it down the m180 today at about 6:45 just after junction 5 for maybe a few miles, I didn’t notice any speed vans and I know closer to Sc***horpe there are camera warning signs, where are the vans usually located down this way? I don’t think I was anywhere near junction two going over the limit.

If you were sufficiently over the limit and vans were present you will soon find out there location with the invitation to pay the suitable fine.

Suggest you drive at sensible speeds then nothing to worry about.

Wouldnt trust that list.

There is a camera at Tattershall Castle on A153 been there for 7 years in a 50 zone that is not listed. Pass it every week

Plus there are two on the A17 near Cranwell airfield which are not listed.

My guess is the webpage is around 10 years out of date, and better to buy at Road Angel or stick to the limits.

I didn’t see any vans on the way there yesterday and I didn’t see any today also, I got an app and it tells me the locations and there were several police mounds in clear site. However I was speeding before I got to the speed camera signs, I slowed down quite a few miles before them as I know they’re there and although I know there are no cameras I do know vans park there, well Atleast I do now.

The risk of being caught is not of course confined to fixed camera sites. There is also the risk of being caught by unmarked police cars which seem to be relatively common on the motorway network.

If you set out to speed and bomb along (especially if you drive something eye-catching?) they will get you sooner or later.

The webpage was updated on Feb 22, BUT it relies on motorists reporting the locations of cameras. It's easy to do - you can send Google Streetview links. I support the principle of driving within the limits, but there seems to me to be a lack of consistency in setting speed limits, so that it's very easy to be caught out. I reported a mobile camera in Hampshire last year and it took a week or so to appear on the database.

Be aware that quite a number of the Gatso cameras (lines on the road, two flashes, only catch speeders going in one direction) are being replaced by new ones which operate in BOTH directions and are linked directly to the enforcement centre.

Not sure what their calibration is set to, +1 mph or 10% +2, probably depends on local enforcement policy.
