Mitsubishi Galant Estate 2.0 - Replacing headlights - Rosemary Rowe

Hi,

I'm new here, but I need your help... I'm trying to find replacement headlights and fog lights for our beloved Mitsubishi Estate (2002). We've tried Ebay, including the US site. Can anyone recommend somewhere else we can try - we live in Notts. Hubby is disabled and has health issues, so driving round scrap merchants can be tricky (especially at this time of year). We also check Facebook groups regularly.

Any recommendations/advice would be gratefully received, thank you.

Why do you think you need to replace them?

You don't need to bother driving around different breakers yards these days to find used car spares!

There are several online websites which you can just type in what spares you are looking for. They then contact various breakers yards for you and send you details of any spares offered. If you decide to purchase anything offered then you can do everything online and the items will be delivered to your home.

One example of such a service is this one:

www.breakeryard.com/

I haven't used this website myself and have no connection with them whatsoever, I have just given it as an example. But there are many others, just Google "Used Car Spares" or something similar.

I have tried it, got quotes for one item but no quotes at all for the other (which I thought would be fairly plentiful)

Mitsubishi OE new parts like this are ridiculously priced, i have the T shirt because we owned a 54 plate Outlander 1 for a while, the headlights lenses on that didn't just discolour they crazed and the crazing was deep in the lens, nothing to be done with them, very very short supply used because all the used examples were going the same way or worse.

I suspect even less chance of proper aftermarket lamp units for a Galant, especially with left dip.

You'll just have to keep perusing ebay type ads for Galants breaking, or, and this is just a suggestion, if you spot one for sale that looks like it has decent headlamps but which is struggling to get any buying interest at all, it might be worth dropping the seller a message to see if he's thought about breaking the car himself and here's £50 to set the ball rolling for the headlamps alone, or if he's going to have to let it go spares or repairs for £100 he might be prepared to swap your headlights for his for that £50, bonus for both of you.

edit, ebay search 'mitsubishi galant breaking' brings up three possibles straight away.
