How can I improve my visibility on the road?

After resisting the idea of driving in the daytime using headlights in addition to my cars DRLs, I have now decided to join the pack and leave my headlights switched on all the time. I was just wondering if there are additional ways of increasing my visibility as per your advice, that seems to suggests that using headlights reduces that chance of collisions. Do you think that the use of fog lights during the day (which seems common) and possibly changing my bulbs to xenon versions will further decrease the chance collisions whilst driving?

Upgrading your headlight bulbs is good option to improve the performance of your lights, as long as the bulbs are suitable for your vehicle and your headlights are correctly adjusted. The use of front and rear fog lamps is not permitted by law unless visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres, so we would strongly advise against this.
