VW Sharan 1.9 TD - ABS air gap - strickjumpers

Can anyone help with the air gap dimension of ABS sensor to ring on my 2002 VW Sharan 1.9 TD? Replaced sensors on both side, fail light extinguished but brake pedal is pulsing below 10mph on breaking from speed, any other ideas welcome, thanks, Mike.

You need to get the light reset using Vagcom/VCDS and then read new codes to find out which sensor(s) is still giving trouble.

Hi, the light is extinguished, if i remove the sensor and tie back go for a test drive breaking fine, but ABS light on, if I refit the sensor and drive light goes out but pedal pulses at 10 mph on breaking from say 30 or 40.., breaking ok till it gets to critical speed, pulsing pedal, noise but no ABS warning.

Corroded rings ...?

The pedal pulsating is the only indication that ABS is operating - it's light is simply there to indicate faults.

Completely different brand - but Vauxhalls are known for the ring to crack and need replacing.

The air gap is not adjustable on these. It is important that the sensor is fitted squarely into a clean recess in the wheel hub. Pulsing brake pedal at low speed is an indication of an inaccurate signal from one or more of the sensors ,usually caused by a cracked or corroded reluctor ring.Have the rear sensors and rings been checked?
