Vauxhall Corsa D Auto - 2008 Corsa D - coolant pump replace - happyvaux

hi fellas,

Got a couple of questions about trying to replace the water pump on my 2008 Corsa auto...

I've got all of the pump bolts out, bar the very bottom one. Does the engine mount bracket which is bolted to the cylinder head have to come off? So far, I've only removed the r/h engine mount and aux. drive belt etc.

If so, do I have to remove the rear mount/torque link bolt?

Do I just raise or lower the engine then to remove the mount bracket? It seems a pig to remove this bracket, as the bolts are so long.

Thanks for any help.

Pete

Cant speak for the diesel but the petrol corsa's are most likley similar.

I've done them by removing the big bracket/mount you describe.

Getting the bolts out means both raising and lowering the engine enough to "Giggle" the fasteners out.

I use an old scissor jack but it does mean half the work is from above and half below when the engine is lowered.

Protect the sump and there's enough "play" to raise/lower the engine.

And agreed it is a pig.

Just checking but it seems the petrol coolant pump repair times is actually double the time the diesel!

So yours may be easier.
