Tribotex Carboss nanotech oil additive - Ebob

Hi all,

My friend showed me this oil additive you add every 40, 000 miles. It uses nanotechnology, the particles have one sticky side which bind to the surfaces of the engine the other side is said to be very hard and low friction to protect the engine and reduce wear and increase mpg.

I was wondering if anybody has any information on stuff like this.

Sounds pretty interesting as nanotechnology is a largely unexplored area.

''Cylinders in your engine form a film that is thicker in a transverse direction, As a result, ellipticity decreases and compression increases. So engine "repair" itself as the TriboTEX coating goes to work.''

amazing product, engine self rebuild as you drive almost

As the company's website acknowledges, anti-friction coatings (such as ceramics, etc) for components are commonly used in engines these days. However, applying them properly means subjecting the individual components to an industrial process.

It's hard to see how squirting a syringe-full of mysterious goop into the oil filler of an engine can apply a semi-permanent, low-friction coating to major components such as cylinder liners, bearings etc.

There were similar magic potions such as 'Piston Seal' back in the 1960s, none ever made any significant difference long term (apart from lightening the buyer's wallet).

If the engine is fecked no amount of snake oil will fix it.

What it needs is a rebuild.

There have been numerous companies over the years seeling gullible owners wonder cures, some garages even try to sell you them at service time.

Problem is, beer is unpredictable. For me, it reduces friction. For other people, it has the opposite effect ...

Wot, does no one believe this miracle goo fills in/replaces worn away metal effectively reconditioning the engine as you drive along :-)
