Zafira diesel - Has the thirst for oil b - KB.
There is well documented evidence that some Zafira diesels use more oil than most (see HJ car/car/brkdn + other dedicated sites mentioned therein). GM must surely have the means to address this. Are new ones now free from the problem, or would prospective Zafira purchasers be wise to stick to petrol (or even duo-fuel ) versions? Or is the problem so minor that it shouldn't be considered?

The problem has influenced my decision not to order a diesel zafira. Rumour has it that Vx have indeed corrected the problem, but they cannot officially say as much since that would mean admitting that there was a problem in the first place.

Indeed, HH, there would be no point in even mentioning it to Vauxhall for, as you say, they're not going to admit ever having a problem and they're certainly never going to say "no we haven't fixed it."

Do the rumours you mention say what they've done to correct it?

Shame, as they seem good in other respects - if only they were made by Honda or Toyota!

What did you order instead?

I'm sure you've seen this site: www.zafirauk.tk/

No the rumours don't mention what they've done.

I've gone for a 1.8 petrol instead.
