Ford Focus Estate - Focus estate 2002 key ignition issue - Stuart Giles

Hi all, I have an issue with my key starting my car, when I try starting it does nothing but the pats light flashed continuously for about 1 min then stopped, I waited to see a sequence for the code but there was nothing, my spare key blade had broke so I tried using the blade with the chip out of it taped next to ignition and car stated fine, I then removed chip and tried main key, car started fine, next time I came to start car.....nothing again.....pats light flashes but gives no code....any ideas?

Non start and a flashing pats light is an indication that the key chip is not recognised.Could be corrupt or incorrectly programmed.Cheapest option is to tape the working chip to the plastic key reader around ignition lock.As you have only one working key,you can't programme another key yourself.
