Normally you get more for your money with a Skoda, but I'm not so sure in this case. The Mercedes is only a year older and has fewer miles; also in the long run the automatic gearbox in the Mercedes should be more reliable than the DSG in the Skoda.

You'd need to look at both cars 'in the flesh' but unless the Mercedes looks neglected or the service history doesn't look genuine, that's the one I'd go for.

One thing i forgot to mention was that the other thing that drew me to the Skoda was the way the boot oepned, i know sounds a bit dumb but the fact you can have full access to the whole of the space was amazing
