VW Transporter - Advice: Buying van with wrong colour on the V5c - Muttley Macc

I am going to see a VW Transporter which was a white van according to the HPI checks but is now sprayed orange. The seller has claimed he forgot to change the V5C which still claims its a white van. Am I able to buy the van and then change the colour with the DVLA? Cheers

Well, the seller reckons he resprayed it last year and has receipts to prove it. Assuming that its pukka (am seeing it Sat - will do a vin check), I am keen to know whether he needs to change the v5 to amend the colour or whether it can be sold and I change the colour.

The seller changed the colour - should be his/her responsibility to tell the authorities. If the seller can't be bothered, walk.
