Hi
Had my clutch and gearbox oil changed on 61 plate Nissan Micra on Tuesday. Car been in family since new and only done 17,000 so really wouldn't have expected having to have a new clutch so soon, never had to have one before and all others cars done in excess of 70,00 miles and clutches still going strong.
Anyway since the clutch change 1st gear glides in smoothly when starting and everything feels fine until I come to stop. I am really struggling to get the car into first gear until it has come to a complete stop. Once at a complete stops it 1st gear glides in easily. This wasn't a problem problem prior to clutch change, when I could change down easily into 1st when at low speeds (under 5mph)
I know there is a debate about whether you should use your gears or brakes to stop but I was taught to block change down from 4th to 2nd and then change into 1st gear just before you stop, ready to move off again. As I said it wasn't a problem prior to clutch change.
Anyone know what the problem might be?
Thanks in anticipation
