Volvo C30 2007 diesel - Brake Failure Warning/Speedometer stopped working - scot22

Last night Brake Failure Stop Safely came up on my info. The speedometer stopped working. I fear a horrendous bill. Could it be something simple ?

Possibly an abs unit failure?not simple and not cheap.

Might be worth having a quick look in the manual to locate the fusebox, the ABS unit will probably have its own fuse which you can check in 2 minutes ...

Thanks Craig.

This morning all was clear on the info when driving to garage.

Thorough check, road test etc and system clear.

Could have been damp or any slight fault set warning off.

My main concern re braking allayed.

Had been thinking of Volvo S40 2011 - don't think I'll bother. Too many potentially very expensive parts !!
