Ford S-MAX - 2008 Ford Smax 1.8 intermittent starting problem - Noworries2004

Hi

My 08 Smax took ages to start today. It is turning over OK and is a split second from starting it fails to start. I had to wait about 15 minutes trying to start the car before it finally started.

It seems to be slow starting when engine is cold. But normally if I leave the key on for 20 seconds it starts on second start. However today it took ages to start.

Car was serviced 2 months ago and it seems the issue may have started around that time.

Amy ideas?

Sounds like it could be a battery problem.Could even be the original?Get it tested to confirm.

Bartery is OK as it starts most days.

It's intermittent that it does not start.

Today especially was bad waiting for ages. Just seems not to combust and start

Looking at Web seems to suggest air intake valve getting g stuck.
