I am concerned as the brand new SLK we are due to sign the contract on does not appear to be new. We have been provided the registration but on the finance paperwork the car model and spec has 2013 against it. From investigating the chassis number, which I presume is the same as the VIN, the car was manufactured in Jan 2013 (according to a russsian website), so I accept this may not be tottally accurate.
The dealer, who are Merc woned, have not told me the car is ancient. It is not being sold as a pre-reg and will be 15 plated.
We have a good discounted price, but buying a car which is 2013 spec and old, where I presume it has sat for over 2 years, is not appealing. I would have expected to be told the car was not current spec and old - but I have not.
Has anyone had similar experience? We have payed a deposit but I hav emajor issues with signing the finance agrement stomorrow. The car is not current spec, it will require fluid changes, battery check/ replacment, brakes?, paint checks......
