Nissan Micra - Hello there! - Hugo {P}

Not been here for a while. Been very busy with Land Rovers etc.

I'm still enjoying the Land Rover Discovery 2 I've had for about 5 years now.

Also, shock horror, I've just agreed the sale of the Nissan Almera SLX Auto we've had for the last 11 years minus a few months!

I'm very pleased with the depreciation. We bought it in 2004 for £2k, and just taken a deposit on a price of £575. We got it at about 16k miles and its now done some 68k

Its replacement, a 32500 mile FSH Citroen C4 Auto on a 07 is costing us, again £2k, with 3 months warranty.

The lady who bought the Nissan wanted her next car to be a Nissan and an Auto, so that ruled out 99% of the cars out there!

Now, I have a question for you. To save hassle the buyer's son in law is arriving to pick it up in her old L reg Nissan Micra that I have offered him to leave here so I can scrap it. I'm not giving him anything for it. Prices for scrap are really low at the moment.

Apparently the auto box is on its way out. It's done 138k, so it's been flogged. However she has maintained it. I wasnt thinking of getting it back on the road, it looks terrible, but I was wondering if there may be anything on it that may be in demand. Otherwise I will probably drive it to the scrap yard, less than a mile away from me, and keep the wheels and battery - apparently she recently had 4 new tyres fitted, and the spare is untouched.

thanks

Welcome back, Hugo - I seem to remember that some years ago you were one of my predecessors as moderator, along with the zealous Dynamic Dave.

I agre with Leif - find some nearby scrappies and see who'll give you the most. Assuming that the wheels and tyres will be no good for a C4, you could put them on Ebay.
