I would say that you have a problem with your aerial/lead/connection and the problem is weak signal, try the effect of removing the earial plug from the radio and plugging about 3' of wire into the socket, if it works OK you will know its an aerial problem.

The interference radiated by anything on the car is AM and therefore should not be detected by the radio on FM.
