Seat Leon SE TDI S-A 1.6 diesel with DSG gearbox - Seat Leon first service - when? - StephenH

I recently bought a Seat Leon 1.6 diesel automatic from a Seat dealer. It is 11 months old (latest model) and has only covered 2,600 miles. Should I have it serviced in a month's time, or should I wait until it has covered more miles? It was initially registered to Seat UK and hardly covered any mileage with them.

Should have got the dealer to service it if close to service time.

And Get it serviced anyway to maintain your warranty!

(then you won't have problems if there is a claim.)

They usually have an indicator saying when it is due. Read the handbook and find which menu it is under. It may be on flexible mileage which could be two years or up to 30,00 miles. With such a low mileage I would want an oil change after 12 months regardless.

Get a service done every 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first.

VAG cars are service every 12 months or 10,000 miles if you are doing less than 10,000 miles a year.

Your car is due for a service.

How do I know this, I have a 10 month old Seat Leon that has done 6500 miles and is due for a service in 2 months time.

VAG are notorious for changing the servicing requirements, seemingly, on a whim.

e.g. Timing Belt change intervals which can vary with country.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above posts recommending an early oil/ filter change for a car having had so little use, but your future driving habits may dictate differing requirements. Rule 1. Read the Service Book. Rule 2. Read it again. Rule 3. See rule 1.
