Jaguar XF Luxury premium 2.7D - Intermittent starting problem - chgn
I am experiencing intermittent starting problems. When following correct procedure for keyless starting, I.e foot on brake and pressing start button engine turns but does not fire - second attempt invariably starts engine although rev counter takes a second or two to show revs. Any ideas what could be the cause?

If your car runs fine other than this I would suspect the battery. If it's the original battery it'll be approaching 6 / 7 years old by now and probably on it's way out.

Hi, did you get down to the bottom of this issue, I have exactly the same problem and even Jaguar are having difficulty finding what the issue is. They suspect injectors but are not 100% .. Any ideas or suggestions ? Thanks

Hi i have just bought a 2.7 xf and have started having the same issue. did you get to the bottom of it? Was it the battery or was it something else?

Soory to state the obvious, but why don't you take your car to one of the many places that will test your battery for you?

If you have a multimeter and are reasonably proficient, then DIY (got a mate who can help?):

If a commercial vendor, it is THEIR problem under the Sale of Goods Act.

Get them to sort it.
