The above oil-based commercial treatments may well be better for in-cavity use, but are not available in Taiwan, The Land That Maintenance Forgot, and perhaps too expensive for the bangers I had in The Yook.
Where rusty metal is accessible, straight SFO abraded with a flattened beercan disc makes an effective slow setting aluminium paint in situ. Brake calipers, drums, internal drum brake components (with care) brake pipes (crumpled foil by hand, Drill is too violent) suspension parts, sills.
Whats lacking is a spray to repel The Man. Maybe Sarin?
