Hi can anyone please help my 06 reg grandis run out of diesel and now won't start the aa and several mechanics have looked at and still can not find the problem the car turns over fine and fires up for short periods on easy start. All diagnostics show nothing except last one did show low fuel pressure I have had the pump out of the fuel tank and that seems to be working does anyone have any ideas of what the problem could be

You could try changing the fuel filter, otherwise it could be the common rail pressure sensor or even the HP diesel pump. It need a certain pressure before the ECU will open the injectors.

Thanks I have changed the fuel filter already so may be worth testing the HP fuel pump to see if it is working
