Apcoa parking charge - susie142

I have got a ticket for parking in a disabled bay with a badge clearly displayed on the car it is a parking charge notice for Apcoa parking at Livingston shopping in Scotland. It is for £40 pounds £20 if paid in 14 days, the offence is for failing to display a valid permit when a disabled badge was clearly displayed on the dashboard. Do I just ignore this still.

Take a look at www.pepipoo.com.

You may wish to ignore the notice you have received and the predictable threatening letters that will follow, or you may wish to appeal, particularly as APCOA seems to be a member of BPA - at no cost to you.

Of course you can still ignore further letters if you appeal and lose; prosecution seems to be unlikely, though you may wish to weigh this up - again, Pepipoo will help.

Thanks for reply.
Do they have any authority in Scotland to take it further please.

I am not a lawyer and don't know if Scottish law in the relevant respects is different from English law. I suggest you go to pepipoo and ask the question there.

My guess (only a guess) is that being in Scotland makes little difference.

I cannot see in the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 that Schedule 4 which deals with Parking Charge Notices applies to Scotland.
