any car - easidrive credit hire - natasha

I was contacted by easi drive after a car owned by westminster council ran into me = it had been hit by another vehicle from behind as well. They gave the impression they were handling the accident on behalf of Westminster council.

They hired a car for me and sent my car off for minor repairs. Despite numerous phone calls the garage kept our car for a very long time - well over the time need for the works required.

I have now received a court summons as Easidrive have unsuccessfully tried to claim the rental car money from the driver who hit the car that hit me.

I now discover that I am liable.

I really feel that I have been scammed even though as a credit hire company they seem to be working within the law. Easidrive contacted me and under flas pretenses said i had no need to contact my insurance as they would be taking care of everything.

Any advice please - what protection is out there for me?

thanks
