I have just started using an i phone, which is very good, and changed network to Virgin. I have 2 Nokia mobiles from previous business use with O2. A 6233 and an E5. My wife wishes to use either of these on her Virgin contract but the phones will not play ball. I think they need codes to unlock them. O2 are less then helpfull and Nokia are not much better. Does anyone have any knowledge of how to unlock these phones for use on other networks? Ideas please. Cheers Concrete

Independent mobile shops will do this for you as well - I have had this done to put an Orange SIM into a T-Mo phone and it cost me a fiver (few years ago though).

O2 have the absolute worst customer service of any mobile phone company and the phone handset manufacturers don't deal with unlocking as it's the line provider that does the locking.

Thanks Bobbin, good advice. A friend has just told me the local watch battery/ key cutter man unlocks mobiles for a few quid. I will try that route. My i phone 4 was given to me by my daughter when she upgraded to a 5. Orange were very helpful and contacted Apple who e mailed me instructions to unlock it so it could take a Virgin sim card. How good is that? I like Orange and so does my daughter but being a Virgin Broadband customer their mobile deals are among the very best and I now have 3 business mobiles with them. By the time I crack all this technology stuff I will be retired. Not too far away now. Quite agree about O2, came away from them years ago, dreadful bunch. Cheers Concrete

If you want to unlock your Nokia mobile phone from the network lock,I would suggest you to get an unlock code from Unlock-zone.com at reasonable price and unlock it using the unlocking instructions given for your mobile phone from Mobileunlockguide.com .
