Hi

I have just brought a focus MOT'd at begining of the month and serviced before we collected it.

driving around town temp is fine, sitting idol temp is fine on taking it on the motorway going approx 80 it shoots into the red. the previous owner said they only ever drove it around town and it never did this, any ideas please and is the garage it has been to legit. Apart from that drives spot on. But i cant afford for this to be an expensive problem as ive just brought the car

Sounds like a water pump problem or possibly a failing cylinder head gasket. If you bought it from a dealer or garage, take it back to them.

hi no brought it private but, they had just had it serviced and mot'd at a garage lets hope for water pump then as i cant work without a car :-(
