Audi A4 - Audi A4 without DPF? - chanlfc

I'm looking for a Audi A4 without the DPF's,

May I ask when the Audi A4's started the DPF system on there cars? was it 2005 onwards or before? I understand the eralier 1.9 TDI didnt have them?,

I also hear the 1.9TDi's is the better engine than the 2.0? is there anyway of knowing if it has a DPF by doing a visual check?

The first of the PD 2.0 TDi with 140 PS didn't have a DPF, instead they had an oil cooler mechanism which tended to destroy itself and the engine!
