Toyota RAV4 - V5 issue date year after registration - stuffandblah

Just looking on checkcardetails site for a potential purchase of a second hand car and noticed the following...

The registration date is: 08/10/2019

The V5 issue date is: 12/10/2020

It has 1 total keeper.

Why would the V5 issue date be a year later?

I got sent one out of the blue as they'd made some minor change to the style of the form. If you think it's fake do an online check using the VIN.

The ways of the DVLA passeth all understanding.

Thanks. I hadn't realised that the v5 issue date is the last date it was issued. Makes sense.

Hope you have checked insurance cost before thinking of purchasing a RAV4 of this era - a lot of insurance companies wont touch them due to the CAN invader theft issue.

Toyota dealers will fit protection plates & a Thatcham Cat 7 tracker FOC including a 3 year free subscription.
