Kia Venga 2 2011 1.4 5speed - MOT time - Orb>>

Took the car in for the MOT and after 3 years of TLC from me and using Kia parts for oil changes and servicing, and the brake light switch which seems to have missed the Kia recall...

Passed, zero faults, zero advisories and emissions all well within tolerances.

Good for another year of running around.

Kia Venga 2 2011 1.4 5speed - MOT time - Falkirk Bairn

65,970 - 64,723 call it 1250 miles in a year!

Doing that sort of mileage it's unlikely to wear out.

I think my shoes have done more

It might rust, though.

Rust really is the only real fear on these. Up here in sunny Scotland they’re generally rather crisp underneath by their tenth birthday. Otherwise hassle free sensible motoring.

Actually pretty good underneath. Had a look at door seals since reading above post.

Little bit to make people smile.

Brake light switch was parts cost plus a mere £18 ic vat for genuine KIA replacement at my trusted indie.

Kia parts dept here much improved with new dealership.

What about the brakes binding or the battery - always a problem (it is on my gen-1 Mazda3) on low use cars?

I had to chuckle at that one! I think I cycled (leisure only) more than that last year, and I only venture out from late April / early May until mid October when the weather's better. But I'm hardly one for gloating on that score, given my car only did 1455 miles in 2023 and only 1180 in 2021.

Incidentally, I might consider a Venga / ix20 if my Mazda3 expires in the near future, especially as it has the option of a TC auto paired with a 1.6 NA petrol engine and sensible wheels/tyres on the mid-spec cars. I won't be as good a handler as mine, but for cheap, reliable A to B motoring and a decent sized boot, what's not to like?
