I’ve been thinking of a wee career change and becoming a driving instructor. I was a depot trainer with a large national bus company for many years, but I’ve left due to poor staff treatment and moved to a more relaxed coach firm and now I quite fancy becoming a driving instructor and although I plan on buying a manual supermini (used Mazda 2/Suzuki Swift/Fiesta 1.25) for my main working vehicle I also intend on offering EV/Auto only instruction via SWMBO’s Nissan Leaf, which has to be the easiest car to drive I’ve ever owned. It’s a perfect learner car. <

The killer is the DVSA part 3 test - very low pass rate 20 -25%

It depends on what people can afford when they can legally drive. A lot of people will be buying cheap cars which will be manual ICE cars.

You might start out on a fairground dodgem or the golf club cart! Which reminds me I was walking on one of the many public footpaths that wander through the local golf club which I hasten to add I am not a member. In any case their was this old chap and he was escorting a lad of about nine and parked nearby was a golf cart. The lad took his drive of the tee, a very good one as it happens and then jumped into the golf cart and went off after his ball. I was amazed that granddad set off after him on foot.

Yes EV driving school a good idea, clutch control no longer a requirement and anyone in the box will do!
