Tesla Hydrogen Car - Elon Musk endorses the “Fool Cell” car - Steveieb

Elon Musk once called the hydrogen car principle the “Fool Cell”.

Is he now planning to manufacture a Tesla hydrogen car from 2024 ?

Just when Toyota have had to retrench and make an electric car and James May has nowhere to refill his Toyota Mirai hydrogen car.

Maybe Toyota got it right first time ?

Could be decoy to wrong-foot the rest of motor industry.

Even so, it would make some sense though for Tesla to research and develop hydrogen fuel cells. It's always possible they could find a breakthrough in fuel cell technology that makes them competitive with batteries cost wise.

Or possibly to distract us all from Twitter and the publicity there...

Toyota is still researching HFC, Japan has found a way to produce green Hydrogen by using gas to cool reactors and wonder if Elon knows about the progress the Japs are making producing Hydrogen

I think Hyundai and Toyota are researching HFC more than they were as it was mentioned not all cars and trucks will be all EV which I agree with...

You do realise this is a fake video and not based on facts? Think you have been 'fooled' :-)

Only as far as Elon is thinking about Hydrogen, I doubt it, but as I said Hyundai and Toyota are still doing R&D into it, I think anyone who thinks all motors will be all Electrically or mains fuelled is wrong, Hydrogen will play a big part and compete with mains powered very easily imo..

First off I detest the term Green Hydrogen, or Purple or Gold or Yellow Spotted Hydrogen. Its clear and odourless OK? Having had to learn this stuff in College the scientific inaccuracy is quite annoying.

Secondly I believe one of the big problems with storing compressed Hydrogen in a vehicle is leakage. It needs very careful handling and imo automotive technology isn't up to the job. Lpg is easier as it's a far larger molecule. Seals that contain Lpg won't hold Hydrogen. i believe there us some talk of storing it as metal hydrides in a tank then heating it to release the Hydrogen. Sounds complex and inefficient but we'll see where the technology goes.

But please no more lesser striped Hydrogen....

So green hydrogen, blue hydrogen, brown hydrogen, yellow hydrogen, turquoise hydrogen and pink hydrogen don't mean anything then?

So do I and I went to College, but never covered Hydrogen apart from as you say clear and odourless OK. but until they come up with another term that I wont be corrected on I will keep saying it, I think you know why they do anyway

Secondly I believe one of the big problems with storing compressed Hydrogen in a vehicle is leakage

They`ve been using it for years without a problem in specially made Tanks so I doubt thats any problem...

In a CD type case which uses laser to release the Hydrogen, though several types of storage are in r&d at the moment some are in use...

But please no more lesser striped Hydrogen....

not my idea, its talked about on videos so if you don`t like it I presume you won`t be watching videos of the tech?, though you must have done to make the correction? lol...

It's called green hydrogen because presumably it comes from a non carbon releasing source. Normally hydrogen is produced by splitting methane which releases CO2.
