Skoda Karoq Edition 4x4 auto, 2018 with 50k miles - Back to Land Rover or not? - Skating Spaniel

Having changed to the Skoda Karoq from a Freelander due to health issues, I am finding that the Karoq is not coping well with the poor roads in the countryside of Herefordshire / Welsh borders.

Creaking noises from the rear, suspension crashing over potholes (19' wheels!) failed front wheel bearing, new discs / pads at front and pads at rear, soon to come new tyres all-round at approx £700.

Should I go back to Land rover or any suggestions for a replacement?

In your situation, I'd be looking at Subaru

Agree, Forester would be ideal. It's a CVT box which just needs getting used to. Latest models are all mild hybrid, I'd avoid them as the battery adds nothing to the car, but takes away spare wheel storage space.

I think you probably chose the wrong wheels and tyres rather than the car

Fair comment. A set of smaller wheels with fatter tyres would certainly help..

Well the Aussies say if you want to go into the Outback take a Land Rover. If you want to come back take a Toyota.

Could be right, never thought about the wheel size
