Seems a very good offer

And when are engines available? Courtesy car until then?

Engines are "on back order"..........

As for courtesy car, id ask but TBH ive got my sons car, im insured, and im buying a banger to use ASAP

What would be a reasonable period to give them, then ask for a cash offer on the car to sell it to skoda?

could that work?

That's pretty good but how much is 10% of the labour. I guess it's probably a nugatory amount, even if total labour were 800+ but I'd be curious as to their rationale for it not being 100%

What caused the failure?

As to selling on see what you're offered.

Marshalls offered me very close to what I paid in 2019 for my Fabia. Didn't bite as I need the car but weird to see depreciation going more or less backwards.

Looks like the oil pump drive failed, the cambelt was shredded and covered in oil

In a week I'll check for order process on parts

I will ring dealerships elsewhere to check engine availability just to have a nosr
