2011 toyota auris hybrid, with NAV - Fitting CARPLAY, to a mk1 toyota auris - carnut1980

Is this a big job, the unit is a double din touchscreen, with NAV, and reverse cam, but the standard radio sucks, no DAB, and the maps are slow and outdated, CARPLAY would be much better. I can pull the old unit out, just fine, many connectors to the rear, i can't see the 'upload pics' option, i took several!

Has steering wheel controls too, but not bothered about those, i do however want to retain the rear parking cam (for her...)

Any advice?

I’m sure there are plenty of units out available that will do the job . You need to get the correct adapter cabling to make it all work . I’ve recently fitted a Sony mech-less unit to a friends Mercedes (no CD player) . All worked fine and even coupled to an aftermarket reverse camera .

Thanks!

So presumably, i need some sort of Fascia kit, to make up for the gaps that the new unit may produce?

I want to retain rear cam, so that is another kit of some sort?

How long will this take, roughly? I don't need the steering wheel controls for the current stereo, and i can go a few days without reverse cam, but ultimately, i want to keep it (HER car...) cheers!

Plenty of double din fascia adaptor kits with or without steering wheel control module. A good unit with an av input socket should take the camera , but check the wiring fittings. Install I would estimate to be around 1-2 hrs , depending on unit purchase.
