Renault Espace IV (JK) 2.0 dCi (JK03, JK04) 2007 - Alarm keeps going off and 2doors no courtesy lig - Jonners59

Have a sudden fault with the car, Espace IV (JK) 2.0 dCi (JK03, JK04). The alarm keeps going off shortly after the lights flash and horn sounds when locking.

I also noticed that when the front nearside door or the rear offside door is opened neither courtesy light turns on. I also notice that there is no "click" and the dash coming to life when they are opened. Also, the dash information screen does not show either door as open. The temperature adjustments work and so do the electric windows. ALL the other doors are fine. All the doors lock OK and all the doors and boot open OK.

It is as if the two doors are not recognised by the car anymore.

Note if the alarm goes off then when I unlock/open the car, the car beeps 4 times.

Can anyone advise what is wrong and or what to check and how PLEASE!

Fixing any electrical problems on these is a real challenge. One of the most difficult cars to fault find due to the complexity of the wiring and control systems . Might be worth disconnecting the battery for 5 mins to see if that reboots the systems. Something else that springs to mind , is that similar aged Scenics suffer rotten wiring under the floor .
