2015 Vauxhall Astra Bi-Turbo 2.0L - Replacing the drivers seat in car - TylerDurden77
Hi.
Last year I bought a 2015 Astra Bi-Turbo 2.0L. Up until a few weeks ago everything was fine but then I took the car into a garage for a service and told them not to move the backrest on the drivers seat as this would cause me massive problems with my back. They moved the seat anyway and ever since my back has been in agony. If I don’t drive the car for a couple of days then my back gets better but then after 2 mins of being in the car again my back blows.

This has been an ongoing issue for a few years but usually once I get the seat back to the preferred position the pain goes away but this time no matter what position I get the seat into the pain will not go away and is just getting worse.

It is definitely the car seat that is doing it as I have driven my partners Clio and the pain is nonexistent.

What I’m wondering is would it be possible to take out the seat and have it replaced with a seat that doesn’t hurt me? Could I fir any sort of seat or would it have to be a certain type for my sort of car?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Unfortunately swapping seats over in modern cars is not so simple . Electronic airbag and sensor systems make this difficult. The only possible solution would be to fit a seat from a similar year Astra , but from a lesser or better model . That way the electrical system would possibly integrate into the existing circuits.
