Which fun car should I choose?
I can afford up to £13000 for a fun car. I rarely have a pasenger. A MINI Cooper 3 door would be fine. Or a VW Up GTI. Both are good but is the Up easier to work on and reliable?
An ex MINI mechanic, now at VW dealership, suggested that the Up was a better proposition. My local small garage is not that keen on MINIs either. Is the Up a safer bet? I would be looking at the 2018 to 2021 models.

In terms of fun factor, we would say that the MINI is more fun to drive, but that the Up has a slightly better reliability record. Both would be a good choice, although the MINI is much more popular so you would have more examples to choose from. Whichever you choose, go for the best car you can afford and pay close attention to service history and condition.
