Have had our ex -demo Kia Niro Plug - in Hybrid for nearly 6 weeks now and done just over 1500 miles
So far very satisfied - very comfortable and excellent driving position. Only real gripe is the boot - having had a Nissan Note with its wonderfuuly flexible system, I miss the flexibility.
Fuel consumption - wise, I charge up the battery once below half charge and always before a long run.
In the time we have had the car, we have done 540 miles pure electric - when on electric only trips, the computer shows 999mpg!!
Seriously though, t am achieving a fill - fill fuel consumption of 98 mpg.overall. Take out the battery running, the HEV consumption is working out at 64mpg. I don't think that is too bad. Just shows the WLTP figures for plug-in hybrids are, at best fictitious, at worst very misleading. So, perhaps the declaration of mpg both in 'real mpg' in the HJ column and those given for official purposes should now give a split of this sort
