My latest acquisition (1994 Pug 306) has been fairly tastefully valeted before purchase - not too little, not too much. But the treatment of the surface between dash and windscreen has made that too reflective, so I was wondering what might be the least damaging but effective way to remove this stuff from that area?

I'd start by spraying with deionised water and wiping with a microfibre cloth. If that has no effect then soap and water and a damp cloth. Escalate with cautious use of white spirit or meths (try on a hidden area ). I think that Armorall do a matt finish vinyl cleaner as well as the glossy.
