Chrysler Voyager 2.5l diesel manual - uK - Chrysler Voyager wont start - Immobiliser? - Mike Mulroy

Hi guys

I have the above car and for the third time in 4 months it cut out yesterday and wont start

The dash alarm light (drilled into dash) stats on.

Having read previous threads about this sort of issue from 2009 here's a few bits of information on what is and isn't happening and what I have tried up to now

All the dials and dash lights work

i have a flat key and a 2 button fob, this still locks and unlocks the doors

The first time it happened it seems as though the Ign fuse had blown

The next time I changed this fuse again but no joy - I removed the IOD fuse - replaced and locked / unlocked doors a few times and the dash light for the alarm went out and the car started

It happened a few times on the way back - waiting a few seconds, locking and unlocking sorted it out

This time I removed the fuses and it worked for another 200metres. Took the fuses out again and replaced did all the other bits and no joy

Left overnight - still light on so removed fuses and disconnected negative lead (as read on other forum - thanks Merlin Tec some great advice)

back and forth like this and lock / unlock a few times, finally run, then cut out again.

I've removed the heater panel as mentioned by Merlin Tec and checked the PIN connector and all looks fine - not able to start with the plug out, checked all connections and replaced - still nothing

It's clearly an immobiliser issue - where is it on a 2002 model?

Thanks in advance of any info to get it running

Mike

It is possible you may have an aftermarket immobiliser system fitted ,in addition to the factory device. The original system is controlled by the "Skim Module" ,so locking and unlocking should have no effect on the system. Take a look here ;www.chryslerforum.com/forum/chrysler-voyager-town-.../
