Vauxhall Astra 2011 - Turbo air outlet covered in oil (external) - Ajc1

Hi

I have a 2011 1.3l diesel Astra. I have noticed at the front there is a metal tube connected to turbo with gasket, which connects a large rubber hose. The metal tube is covered in oil and pools around rubber hose. I have noticed that there was oil pooled around rubber hose connection before but it seems to be worsening.

I have not noticed any smoke when engine is running.

Any suggestions what could be causing this.

Thanks

Andrew

I'm not sure on this model, but it could be that an oil seal in the turbo is leaking.

This engine does seem to have a poor reputation for being long lived and trouble free.

It is not unusual to get "sweating" around the turbo boost pipes, especially where there is a metal/rubber joint. Take the hose off and check for any splits or holes. It may be the rubber hose has deteriorated and not sealing properly.
