I ordered car mats online from www.valuecarmats.com after looking through forums on where to buy after marker car mats. Sadly even after nearing 2 months, I haven't received anything from this dealer. I've contacted them through emails multiple times and obtained no response. They don't have a telephone number either advertised on their website. The only number that they have is not in use anymore.

More peculiarly, now I can't even access their website anymore and seems like even their email is not working because I don't get an automated email back immediately saying that they have received my message.

Anyone has experienced anything like this? Anything I can do? I want the car mat or either my money back if they can't fulfil my order.

I'm sorry, did you not do a tiny, tiny little bit of research on their own website before you bought off them ?

About us : we are based in Worcestershire. Nothing else, no address. no details of company. Nothing.

Contact us : email only. No telephone number at all.

Here is a phrase : cheap for a reason. When a set of original mats from SKODA are only £35 (yes, I've just checked on SKODA's website), buying a set for £20 from some dodgy online retailer is going to end up with a lack of quality, or a lack of service, or both.

If you paid by credit card, ask your card issuer to refund you.

I did some research about them. A lot of people gave good reviews on multiple forums and they didn't score badly on www.scamadviser.com/is-valuecarmats.com-safe.html

Other people do complain about them, but those are about misaligned car mats rather than non-delivery and no contact. That's why I didn't do a lot of hesitation when ordering from them. Now I know the truth, but sadly too late.

I paid by debit card. My bank can hopefully refund it, does it work the same as credit card?

I know they get bad press for many reasons, but unless we know the seller from previous dealings we always look to see if you can buy the same item (often from the same seller) through Amazon, you simply can't fault their customer service, when something goes wrong they usually sort it out on seconds.

Hope you get your money back, and as for reviews on various places sometimes i find praise puddings can be overegged a bit too much, if you go into the gushing praise posts in depth you sometimes find a lot of good ones arrived around the same time, not saying that was the case here.

Going to cheekily put a query in on your thread IK, hope you don't mind.:) I want one or two high quality drivers footwell rubber mats for the Landcruiser, doesn't have to be perfect fit, i'll trim to suit, any ideas anyone where one can buy such a thing singly or in pairs, don't want a whole pack of 4 or 5 mats

No i haven't asked the dealer yet, i'll make sure not to give a name and withold me phone number, they're a bit too keen on looking for workshop work.

Their website doesn't provide an address, a company number nor a VAT number, That set of gaps should be a big enough warning that this is either a very small business or a dodgy business.....

The Citigo is a 4-seater, no third seat belt in the back. They might try and worm out of a dispute over misdescription of the car if you sid it was a 5-seater.....

Last year, Toyota began selling single driver's mats for some of their models, which saves having to buy a full set when the driver's mat wears out. Might be worth enquiring whether they do the single driver's mat for your Landcruiser.

Companies House has two appointments for Colin John Blake, both connected with N4 Car Mat Manufacturing. The company is in liquidation, commencing in September 2016. The Statement of Affairs of 15th September is interesting indeed: there's not much point in pursuing your money from the company! This info is freely available on the Companies House website.

If you are dealing with a small company or one you don't know, you can find out lots about them via the Companies House search.

That's always a red flag to me.

If a company can't be bothered to comply with their legal obligations, then they've probably cut corners elsewhere too.

So, by the sound of it, your money is gone. You'll join a list of unsecured creditors, and will be lucky if, in 2-3 years, you get a single penny back.

Learn from it. Next time, research BEFORE buying. If something is really cheap, be suspicious and ask why.

I thought I was pretty savvy when it came to assessing online sites but I've learned a bit from other posters here. As ever a good source of advice and knowledge.

Oddly what would put me off is their online survey on the landing page referring to the mats "you was looking for". But then I am a pedant!

I agree that everyone on this thread has been a massive help for any of my future purchases. Hopefully I can get my money back, otherwise, it's (only) £14 gone which is still quite substantial.

A car mat company was recently closed down for falsely making "genuine" car mats. Perhaps it was them or a subsiduary?

Skoda Citigo 5 seater - Nothing received from ValueCarMats.com - FoxyJukebox

I would have gone to a supermarket ( or cheaper, a £1 shop even) and bought a couople of rubber mats about the same size -then cut them to exact size( template). If you have holes in your existing mats-note these and lightly drill through your newly templated rubber. Cost-£5 at max.

Then-provided they are not in absolute tatters-take the OLD mats and give them a thorough soaking and scrub with washing up liquid and dry thoroughly. Have them to hand for spare for when you sell the car( just in case a fussy buyer only wants the manufactured fitted stuff!).

Shame they have gone I used them for many years. I came across this thread looking for them. I first came across them on HUKD

Next time use Paypal. No problems getting money back from them. Very fair organisation. I have zero connection with them mods.

And I buy on Ebay stuff from some sketchy Chinese sellers and have had very few problems maybe one a year?

I ALWAYS pay by Paypal when vuying from companies or people I don't know. They are 100% on the buyer's side.

If pushed I woulkd use a credit card. I would NEVER pay by debit card as no protection.

I tend to buy most things like this from Amazon who always step in when things go wrong , even with third party sellers.
Once you signup to Prime lots of items arrive post free, and generally next day if it is a prime product.
It must be very difficult for competitors to match this excellent service.
