Hi guys, Im looking for a replacement clutch, dmf and bearing kit and have been told to only buy LUK, Valeo or Sachs. But I've heard there are cheap crap out there boxed as LUK when they are not. So how do I know if I'm getting the genuine product? Obviously some of these cheap deals on fleebay look a bit suspect...

Buy from an official supplier, not from some unknown on ebay.

Why not check main dealer prices?they often have deals on many service parts.

You might get a Sachs clutch at Euro Car Parts. I've bought an LUK clutch from a respected supplier on ebay a less than what my garage man could buy trade. He said he'd not put a non-LUK clutch in the car too.

Manage to get a friend of a friend who got me a real good price and order direct from LUK. Picked up last night and dropping off at my garage now. Hopefully all goes well with fitting...

Are you sure that the garage is willing to fit parts not supplied by them?If there is a problem with the clutch,you will end up paying more to rectify the issue.

Yes they are aware of the situation. They have the special tool to fit the clutch. Dealt with them for years, genuine couple of brothers who always give me confidence in their knowledge.

Just hope it cures the bad starting problem.

Sorry,but I'm confused.Why fit a clutch for a bad starting problem?Hope the garage is aware of your issue.

Teeth on flywheel?If you fit a new flywheel,it makes sense to do the clutch.

Basically they found the crank sensor bracket snapped and the crank sensor just floating about. Its been hitting the flywheel. So to replace the bracket for the crank sensor its a gearbox off job. Also the dmf flywheel does knock quite abit on shut off and the the van judders in reverse, possible clutch on its way out. So I've read alot about poor clutches and dmf problems so decided whilst the box is off to do the lot.
