Ford Focus - ticking sound after turbo replacement in TDCI - captainjon

Just had a turbo replaced at a garage for my Focus tdci, and since then i can hear a ticking sound on acceleration that wasnt there before.

Is this something the garage didnt fix right, or another problem?

Did you just have the turbo replaced, or the oil feed/return pipes too ?

Could be an exhaust leak. If near the engine block this can sound like a ticking noise - just a thought - especially as it has just been in bits!

Exhaust leak or injector seal. Its possible that extra boost from a new turbo could blow a weak seal.

I hope they replaced all the oil feed and return pipes and cleaned the oil pick up filter in the sump otherwise you will be needing another in a few weeks !
