Is there an issue with uneven rear tyre wear on the Volkswagen Eos?

Does anyone know if there is an issue with uneven rear tyre wear on the Eos range? The inside 25 per cent of each rear tyre is effectively bald, yet the rest of each tyre has at least another 5000 miles...
