My Jaguar X-Type has a rusty subframe but Jaguar won't accept liability. What should I do?
I am the owner of a Jaguar X-Type Estate registered in October 2008 and it has a rusty rear sub-frame. Jaguar completely deny responsibility and I have a letter from them stating "Surface corrosion is present which is expected on a vehicle of that age and mileage". I started fruitless letters in April when the car had done less than 20,000 miles. I don't think I should accept rust but they deny liability. What should I do?

I don't think this superficial rust is anything to worry about, but if you are worried you can have it cleaned off and the area repainted.
