Should I renew my warranty which covers my Audi's DSG gearbox?

I need to know about the long term reliability of the Volkswagen Audi DSG automatic gearbox. My car is an 06 plate with 50,000 miles and I bought it from Audi with a year's warranty. The warranty will soon expire and I would like to know whether is it essential that I renew it. I know there was a recall in the USA and wondered if there were any issues like this in the UK?

Yes, I'd say it's essential to renew the warranty, assuming it covers all parts of the gearbox.
